Kan. to pay $100K to settle patient's lawsuit

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) - Kansas will pay $100,000 to settle a lawsuit filed on behalf of a former disabled state hospital patient who contracted a sexually transmitted disease and $13,000 to an ex-state senator who sued regulators after they blocked his involvement in a dog track.
