    (Corrected version):

I am a retired personal injury attorney.

A colleague once told me that is a shame that 90 percent of all attorneys ruin the reputation of the rest of us. Of course, he was exaggerating, making a small joke. :-)

I worked with six different plaintiffs‘ personal injury firms before I started my own practice. After I left, three of those firms had an attorney who was disbarred. One of those attorneys was sentenced to prison for engineering the murder hit on someone who would have been a witness in his insurance fraud case.

I can think of three other attorneys with whom I had some kind of professional contact who were also later disbarred.

And I have also had longstanding relationships with several firms who were perfectly ethical to the best of my knowledge.

    This is a two-sided coin.
