Elected and Appointed
Lee DeJulius, a partner in the Pittsburgh office of Jones Day and a member of the firm's business and tort litigation practice, was appointed to a three-year term on the Lawyers Advisory Committee of the Judicial Council of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit by Chief Judge Theodore A. McKee.
The role of the committee is to comment on proposed rules of the circuit and on certain Judicial Council matters and to serve as a liaison between the court and the legal community.
Reed Smith promoted 44 lawyers. Its 26 new partners are joined by 18 new counsel in the firm's offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Europe and Asia.
The individuals promoted in the Pittsburgh office are:
• Justine S. Patrick, financial industry group (investment management), partner.
• James L. Rockney, financial industry group (litigation financial services), partner.
• Jarrod D. Shaw, financial industry group (litigation financial services), partner.
• Justin H. Werner, energy and natural resources, partner.
• Kelly L. Bley, tax, benefits and wealth planning, counsel.
• Paul Didomenico, real estate, counsel.
Wendy G. Rothstein, a partner with Fox Rothschild, was elected to serve as secretary of the Montgomery Bar Association.
Rothstein, a member of the MBA for the past 31 years, focuses her practice on solving business problems for both for-profit and nonprofit entities.
Burns White added two associates to its Pittsburgh office.
Simoné L. Delerme practices in the areas of products liability, mass tort litigation and oil and gas title work, with a focus on title curative measures and due diligence.
Stefan E. Flickinger is an associate with the energy group, focusing on due diligence, title curative and certified title opinions in oil and gas matters.
Chaired by Marc D. Jonas, the real estate committee of the Montgomery Bar Association was honored as the Committee of the Year at the bar association's annual meeting.
Jonas has been the chair of the real estate committee since 2000.
Jonas is co-chair of Eastburn and Gray's real estate and land use and zoning practice group.
Gross McGinley's intellectual property group expanded its services to include patent law.
The firm's attorneys have counseled businesses and individuals on simple and complex copyright and trademark matters for almost four decades.
With the addition of patent law services, the firm is now able to guide businesses, hospitals, physicians, universities and individuals through the process of protecting new discoveries with patents.
