I have been in courtrooms where some lawyers stand when jurors come in and out of the room and others don't. What is the proper rule for standing for jurors?

I disagree. Jurors are the judges of the facts, and, as such, I was trained to stand when they exit and enter. I always advise my clients to do so. My experience is that many judges also follow this tradition.
