A Wal-Mart store manager who is a Seventh-day Adventist sued the company on religious discrimination grounds, claiming he was demoted for his observance of the Sabbath.

    Walmart Corp. wherever they are - seems to be a cheapskate organization! They treat all employees like ‘dirt‘, as they deny full time work, and put people on low hour jobs, in order that they need not pay compensations, over-time and medical insurance. I say, "Don‘t even think about shopping in a cheap-skate place while the Walton‘s bask in luxury in their multi-million dollar dwelliings!!"

    So this man wants other people to give up more of their Saturdays so that he doesn‘t have to? Any "accommodation" would mean transferring his Saturday shifts to others. What makes what he does in private life more important than what they do? Good luck to Walmart. Unpopular shifts should be allocated equally and people then allowed to swap; but allowed, not bullied, expected, forced, pressed, or required. And if you are on duty and nobody wants to exchange you show up and sort out your own problems.

    Why didn‘t Walmart continue to agree with the accommodation and also why didn‘t they work something out before or during the EEOC stage. Now they are going to have to pay big time on this. Dumb, Walmart, dumb!!
